Shaun Nixon, Texas A&M running back commit
| AUSTIN -- FOX Sports NEXT headed to Austin (Tex.) Lake Travis practice to get the latest on the Cavaliers' top prospects, including Texas A&M commit Shaun Nixon, emerging talent, and a 2013 quarterback who is walking on to a Big 12 program... | |||
4-Star Update Upon first glance, it's evident that running back Shaun Nixon has filled out since his junior season. Lake Travis head coach Hank Carter said Nixon worked hard in the weight room to get his current weight up to 190-pounds. The added weight didn't appear to slow him down, as the Texas A&M commit scored two touchdowns in goal line drills and looked good catching the ball out of the backfield at Thursday morning practice.
Prospect Watch
One player who stood out at practice was 2015 linebacker prospect James Bailey. Impressive frame aside, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete drew attention with the hardest hit of the day. Bailey appeared fluid and athletic and displayed a nose for the ball.
Other players to keep an eye on include defensive tackle Zach Davies (6-2, 245), outside linebacker Luke Hutton (6-2, 205), and offensive lineman Ty Anderson (6-5, 260). Carter believes all three possess Division-I talent
2013 News: Quarterback Headed to Big 12
