Austin (Texas) Westwood vs Austin (Texas) Lake Travis
The game consisted of two very different halves. Though Lake Travis
running back Shaun Nixon, a Texas A&M commit, had a 34-yard
rushing touchdown late in the first quarter, Westwood quarterback Bear Fenimore, a three-star Houston commit,
showed off both his big arm and running ability, leading the Warriors to a 16-14
lead at halftime while going 17-for-28.
However, the Cavaliers managed to rally in the second half, scoring two
touchdowns and two two-point conversions within the first few minutes of of the
third quarter. Quarterback Dominic De Lira passed for 193 yards, and Nixon had
two more touchdowns, bringing the final score to 53-16. The running back
finished the game with 129 yards and four touchdowns, bringing his total yards
for the season to over 210 in three games.
Lake Travis has a defensive star in the making in 2015 linebacker James Bailey, who played a large role in shutting
out the Warriors' offense in the second half. He had nine tackles in the game,
seven that were unassisted. Bailey is hearing from a few programs and says that
he's currently very interested in Texas Tech. Fenimore finished the game with 262 passing yards.
